Lost Restaurants of Philadelphia
Lost Restaurants of Philadelphia
I’m excited to announce I wrote a 2nd book, ‘Lost Restaurants of Philadelphia,’ releasing July 25th courtesy of Arcadia Publishing.
These delicious 236 pages dig deep into our city’s past, to uncover the restaurants that once were, but shifted and defined the Philadelphia’s food culture that we know today.
This delightful writing project not only allowed me to uncover historical restaurants that dated back well before the 1900s, but also gifted me the opportunity to comb through over a century of others writing about our treasured city. We’ve come so far—and it was a pleasure not only understanding those who took a chance on opening a restaurant, but also the start of local chef careers who are now kind of a ‘big deal.’
With over 50+ ‘lost’ restaurants covered in these pages, you’re in for a treat (+ recipes!). If reading about food strikes your fancy, you can pre-order now via Amazon (link in bio).Teaser of those that are memorialized in these pages: Le Bec-Fin, Little Pete’s, Frog, Palumbo’s, Horn & Hardart’s, Striped Bass, The Garden, Déjà Vu, Levis Hot Dogs, Django, Zanzibar Blue, Carman’s Country Kitchen, and so many more!
